Hospital Physician Partners Hospitalist Program Management Expanding Nationally

Posted December 23, 2010

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, December 23, 2010 – Hospital Physician Partners, one of the nations fastest growing Hospitalist and Emergency Department (ED) management groups, has seen a rapid expansion of its Hospitalist division over the last two quarters of 2010. Since June, the Florida based company has added seven new Hospitalist contracts in Florida, Texas and North Carolina and opened a new Hospitalist division office in Naples, Florida.

Hospital Physician Partners most recent Hospitalist Medicine management program additions include Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center, Daytona Beach, FL; Johnston Medical Center, Smithfield, NC; Southwest General Hospital in San Antonio, TX and The Medical Center of Southwest Texas in Port Arthur, TX. In total, Hospital Physician Partners now manages Hospitalist Medicine programs across the country in eight states including Florida, Texas, Arizona, Kentucky, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and West Virginia.

Hospital Physician Partners contracts with hospitals to provide a comprehensive Hospitalist Medicine management program which includes clinical staffing, process management, training and education and performance improvement. Each program is managed by practicing Hospital Physician Partners’ physicians who in addition to the operational responsibilities also work clinical shifts.

“The need is increasing for a more efficient and patient focused global continuum of care. With this need, the implementation of Hospitalist programs continues to grow,” says Jeffrey Schillinger, CEO of Hospital Physician Partners. Hospital Physician Partners’ Hospitalist providers include Physicians, Physicians Assistants and Nurse Practitioners who provide care for patients while they are in the hospital. All care is coordinated with a patients primary care physician but it is the Hospitalist who treats and ultimately discharges the patient with follow-up to occur with the patients primary care provider.

Schillinger says his company specializes in helping hospital leadership manage challenges hospital-wide versus offering a “silo” approach. “We have an intimate knowledge of both Emergency Medicine and Hospitalist Medicine. Patient care is no longer one-dimensional. We integrate our diverse expertise to help hospitals manage the patient experience from the time of the initial ED visit to admission and/or discharge,” says Schillinger. “The integration of these service lines is a natural progression in improving overall patient care,” added Schillinger.
