Job Description

Wadley Regional Medical Center features 370 hospital beds and is certified by the Joint Commission as a Primary Stroke Center and is also designated by the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery as a Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence. Wadley Regional Medical Center offers a full range of medical specialties and advanced diagnostic capabilities.

The 21-bed emergency department at Wadley Regional Medical Center includes a 4-bed Fast Track for minor emergencies which is staffed by mid-level providers seven days per week. Emergency department physicians enjoy flexible scheduling with double physician coverage of 12 hour shifts and 36 hours of mid-level provider coverage daily. The NWS CORAL system tracking and charting system is used in the emergency department to ensure that patients are seen promptly and treated with great customer service.

Required

Board certified or board prepared in emergency medicine or primary care with EM experience. Residency completion required as well as ATLS and ACLS; PALS preferred but not required.

With the needs of growing city and community, WMRC expanded in to a new 200-bed facility with the generous contributions of J.K. Wadley in 1959. Location Description

Texarkana is a unique city divided by State Line Avenue which separates Texarkana, Texas from Texarkana, Arkansas. The city name describes its location, lying along the Texas and Arkansas border and just a short distance above the Louisiana boundary. Texarkana is 180 miles east of Dallas, 144 miles southwest of Little Rock and 72 miles north of Shreveport. Texarkana offers an outstanding public education system as well as Texarkana College, a fully accredited junior college. Texas A & M University has a branch located in Texarkana as well as the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences Area Health Education Center (AHEC) located on the Arkansas side of the city which includes a Family Practice Residency Program, training in Medical Technology, Respiratory Therapy and Nursing.
